DMX Panel
Important Note!
For meaningful use of this app you need the DMX controller from HMB|TEC , for example, the HMB | TEC "DMX-ETH-Controller" . This controller is connected to an available wireless WiFi router . The app communicates via the IP address ( xxx.xxx.xxx.222 : 1470) with the DMX controller ( " xxx.xxx.xxx " the first 3 octets of the home network ) . An additional Mac or PC is not required for operation !
This app is the ultimate tool for stagelight technicians who want to control their DMX devices via WLAN. Operation is simple and intuitive and can be customized to any DMX devices ( lights, spots , moving heads , LED light bars , LED stripes , LED panels , laser spots , effects and fog machines ) . In the standard version, a total of 16 virtual channels are available . Each virtual channel is assigned to a slider . Each channel , or each slider can be mapped to one or more physical DMX channels (1 to 512) . Thus, for example, slider 1 is assigned to DMX channels 1 to 5 , so when changing just one slider position, all five mapped DMX channels will receive the same data ( 0 to 255). The individual sliders can be assigned to a certain function, for example, "red light on" or "rotation".
In practice, the sliders are configured using the device manual and the specified DMX protocols. The DMX channels should coincide with the start addresses set by DIP switches. All settings in the app remain permanently stored even after switching off and can also be copied to other devices via iTunes.
In addition to the sliders, the app provides 8 preset buttons. Each button can store any combination of controller settings that are sent with one touch to the connected DMX devices. A distinction is made whether the preset is enabled or disabled. The preset buttons are similar to the station buttons on a car radio. It can always activate one radio station (in our case, only one preset). For example, if preset 1 is active and the user presses preset 3, then preset 1 will be deactivated while in turn preset 3 will be activated. The presets 5 to 8 can function instead of "radio buttons" as momentarily or push buttons (lateral switch set to "ON"). Actuation of pushbutton therefore does not reset the previously selected preset, but additionally sends the assigned DMX functions. When released, the previously activated functions are automatically set back. This key mode is particularly suitable for the activation of temporarily required functions or effects, for example, flashes of light or fog emission, used meaningfully.
In the light control via DMX has a so-called "Black Out" or "BO" - proven functional. Here all the connected DMX devices will be set to a defined state (all values to zero) thus can be switched with one touch. In most configurations, this is actually equivalent from the "black", so all the lamps turn off. In DMX Panel this is the key, "BO"
On the left hand side of the screen you will find a button that selects between additionl screens. There is the screen "setting" with the memory functions and the background color selection and a screen that connects the website of HMB | TEC, where you will find useful information.
